On Thursday 11th February we will be opening our doors and putting our best foot forward to showcase our venues as part of the Wellington on Show event. We invite anyone who organises events in Wellington to come down to the Michael Fowler Centre from 10am – 3pm on this open day and enjoy a guided tour of our venues. Along the way you will meet some of our key suppliers who will be ready to talk to you about how they can help with your next event. You will be wowed with a technical presentation by Multi Media, have your taste buds delighted by Restaurant Associates – and meet the industry experts that we work with such as Westside Studios, Conference Works, CMNZ and Displayways. Destination Wairarapa will also be onsite.
And because we believe that the perfect venue is the “icing on the cake” to any event, when you have finished your tour, you will be treated to a cupcake icing demo by Tempts own Tamara Jane – and you get to take your specially iced cupcake away with you. So why not take a little time out of the office and come down and discover what great venue solutions are right on your doorstep.

Wellington showcase a great success

Wellington showcased its C&I and Events Industry Product on the 14th October at the 9th annual Wellington Conference and Events Expo. Over 80 local suppliers came together at the TSB Bank Arena for this regional exhibition highlighting what Wellington can offer event organisers. With regular exhibitors and the 22 first time exhibitors bringing fresh and creative ideas for attendees to explore - over 90% of our attendees surveyed said that they had discovered new ideas at the tradeshow, and would be purchasing soon.
Although numbers were down from last year with just 575 buyers attending - this was considered by many to be quality over quantity. Due to this exhibition being a regional showcase, the buyers predominately came from the local event market; however this year’s exhibition also saw an increase of out-of-towners attending which was felt to be a reflection of the growing maturity of the show.
“The exhibition was a successful one with many worthwhile meetings taking place between suppliers and attendees. The day ran smoothly with everyone having a positive experience” says Gillian Officer – Manager, Business Development at the Wellington Convention Centre.

New website makes finding venue information easy

Recognising that most research is now conducted online - we wanted to create a website that is a complete tool for anyone wanting to find out more about our venues. With sophisticated search tools and impressive imagery - finding the right information is now a breeze on our brand new website.
And because it's not only event organisers who visit our website, we've ensured that visitors and exhibitiors alike are well catered for with dedicated sections covering content relevant to address their needs.
