Two Classic Buildings in Central Wellington

Wellington Convention Centre consists of two unique buildings located next to each other in Wellington's central business district. The Wellington Town Hall is a beautifully restored historical building (1904) and Michael Fowler Centre is of architectural modern design (1983).

With 19 versatile venues these two buildings hold a large number of events each year ranging from conferences to concerts, banquets to exhibitions, weddings to conventions. Michael Fowler Centre and Wellington Town Hall are located next to each other and are connected via a pedestrian bridge.

With our large number of venues and two large auditoria, we are a top destination for many large national and international conferences. We are home of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, and also host many international stars and local talent.

Location in Compact Central Business District

Wellington Convention Centre has the perfect location based in the heart of Wellington City. It is:
